In a world where sustainability and creativity go hand in hand, crafting with recycled materials has become the norm for many DIY enthusiasts. One particular material that stands out for its eco-friendliness and versatility is glass. From wine bottles to jars, there is a plethora of glass items in our households waiting to be up-cycled into stunning creations. So, grab your crafting gear and let's embark on a journey of turning everyday glass items into extraordinary pieces of art!

Upcycling Common Household Items
1. Wine Bottles
Turn empty glass bottles into stylish vases by simply removing the labels, cleaning them thoroughly, and adding fresh flowers. Paint or apply decoupage to them in the colors of your choice for a personalized touch. Create a Tiki Torch lamp by adding the torch kit, or lights by adding a cork top battery operated fairy light! Glue some pretty ribbon around it, recycle a broken old necklace and charms! Just have fun creating!
Decoupage is done by cutting thin papers like tissue paper, paper napkins, washi papers or even wrapping paper, then applying them to glass or Ceramics with Mod-Podge and a soft brush. Be sure to let them dry then give them one or two top coats! Here I have combined tissue papers, cloth ribbons and even real dried flowers. It took several top coats to ensure full coverage, then I used e6000 to add a few pearls and the bottle looks beautiful with the light on and off. You can buy mine by from my ETSY shop by clicking the image or make your own, scroll down for my full list of supplies with links if you don't have access to a craft store or the time to go shopping.
Tiki Torch Kits provide you with everything except the Tiki oil to fit a standard Cork Wine Bottle top turning it into an instant Tiki Torch. So if your porch theme is Beachy, you can paint the bottles with Glass spray paint in beach colors. Or use Decoupage for a Key West theme. Add some twine, sea shells, etc.

Glass paints come in a few types and can give you incredible artistic freedom and possibilities for decor and design. Everything from spray paints to glass paints that you fire in your own oven to make them permanent. 2. Jar Lanterns
Transform empty jars into enchanting lanterns by inserting fairy lights inside. Use different-sized jars to create a magical ambiance indoors or outdoors. Apply UV DTF Cup Wrap Stickers to add or change a decor theme and even for the holidays! You can remove them later to change out the theme too simply by reheating the sticker and slowly peeling it off. These are a great way to change up your decor for very little cost and time. The stickers are precut and clear transfer vinyl is already applied, simply the stickers you want, peel the backing and apply to the clean glass, rub the stickers to adhere, then slowly peel back the clear transfer top sheet keeping the sheet tight to the glass and you have an instantly beautiful piece! If you have a cutting machine like a Cricut or Sihlouette you can cut your own removable vinyl stickers, window clings and more! Adding a candle or battery light can bring ambience to those relaxing evenings. See below for my shopping list!

3. Glass Mosaic Coasters
Break apart colorful glass pieces from old dishes or bottles and arrange them on a plain coaster using adhesive. Seal the design with resin for a polished finish.
